Important Instructions for UNN Newly Admitted Candidates
Candidates offered provisional admission must follow these steps to confirm their acceptance:
1. Upload O’Level Results
Candidates must urgently upload their O’Level results to the JAMB portal through an approved CBT Centre. After uploading, they should submit proof of the upload and their admission status on JAMB CAPS to the Admissions Office. Admission processing will not continue without this step.
2. Accept Admission on JAMB CAPS
Log in to the JAMB portal and click Accept Admission. Candidates who do not accept the offer will not receive a JAMB Admission Letter and will be considered not admitted.
3. Generate Payment Invoice
Visit the UNN website unn.edu.ng or the portal https://unnportal.unn.edu.ng/ and log in with your JAMB registration number to generate a payment invoice containing a Remita number. Use this invoice to make payments at any commercial bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank.
4. Pay Acceptance Fee
Using the payment invoice, pay an acceptance fee of ₦30,000. Ensure that the invoice number is entered correctly at the bank. Collect a confirmation slip with your confirmation number and invoice number.
5. Print Admission Slip and Complete Acceptance Form
Return to the UNN portal, log in with your JAMB registration number, confirmation number, and invoice number. Print your admission slip and complete the online acceptance form.
6. Proceed with Fee Payments and Registration
Follow the guidelines on the UNN website to complete all necessary fee payments and registration.
Important Notes
- This admission is provisional. If at any time, even in the final year, it is discovered that a candidate does not meet the university’s admission requirements, the admission will be withdrawn.
- Candidates who do not accept their admission by Monday, 10th March 2025, will lose their admission slot.

How to Check Your JAMB Admission Status
On a Computer
1. Go to the JAMB E-facility website.
2. Log in with your email and password.
3. Click on Check Admission Status.
4. Select your exam year, enter your JAMB registration number, and click Access my CAPS.
5. Click Admission Status from the menu.
6. Your admission status will be displayed under Admission Profile:
- If admitted, you’ll see options to Accept or Reject Admission.
- If no admission offer is available, these options will be greyed out.
7. If you haven’t been admitted yet, keep checking the portal for updates.
On a Mobile Device
1. Open Google Chrome and go to the JAMB E-facility website.
2. Log in and select Check Admission Status.
3. If you only see a welcome message, switch to Desktop Mode.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Desktop site.
4. Click Admission Status and then Search next to your JAMB registration number.
5. If admitted, you’ll see options to Accept or Reject Admission. This is free.
Once you accept the admission, print your JAMB Admission Letter for your school’s registration and clearance.
After Seeing Your Name in the UNN Supplementary List 2, What’s Next?
Below are the things you are expected to do when you see your name in the UNN admission Supplementary List 2
- Start preparing to resume. Check the university website for the resumption date.
- If lectures have started, you are expected to resume as soon as possible.
- If you have any issues, visit the UNN Admissions Office for resolution.
- If UNN hostel allocation is filled up, you are advised to rent a lodge off-campus.
How to Accept Your UNN Supplementary Admission with JAMB Registration Number
- Visit a JAMB CBT Centre.
- Present your JAMB registration number to the JAMB CBT personnel.
- They will access your CAPS, and if you have been admitted, they will accept it and print your JAMB Admission Letter.
- Collect your admission letter before leaving.
Update for Those Transferred to Another Course
For candidates transferred to another course through the Supplementary or Shopping List:
If you are offered admission into another course in the Shopping or Supplementary List and you wish to accept it, visit a JAMB CBT Centre to do a Change of Course to the one you were offered.
After that, ensure your O’Level results are correctly uploaded to the JAMB portal.
Once rectified, submit proof of the upload to the UNN Admissions Office before your CAPS updates to “Congratulations.”
For UNN candidates given the same course but whose CAPS still shows “Not Admitted”:
Submit evidence of admission and proof of O’Level upload to the UNN Admissions Office at Nsukka Campus.
For newly admitted Combined Social Science candidates:
Do not change your course immediately. Wait until after clearance to confirm your department before making any changes.
Reminder: Do not follow any unofficial process. Only UNN and JAMB are responsible for activating your portal before you will see “Congratulations” on CAPS.
