The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) management has decided to place a restriction on all social events within the campus. This decision came after the sad incident that occurred on September 12, where a guest, Mr. Chiebonam Nweze (popularly known as Power-Autos), was fatally stabbed during a bonfire night organized by the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies.
The management explained that the situation was made worse because some miscreants from a nearby community infiltrated the event and caused violence.

- From now on, no social event is allowed to go beyond 6:00 p.m. on any UNN campus.
- All approved activities must strictly take place during the day.
- Every event should be held under the close watch of the University Security Unit to avoid a repeat of what happened.
