UNIZIK Supplementary Admission Guide for 2025/2026 Academic Session: Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) has officially opened the application portal for its supplementary (shopping) admission for the 2025/2026 academic session. This opportunity is mainly for UTME candidates who already registered for the Post-UTME screening but wish to switch to another department.
According to the university, the supplementary exercise will close by 3 pm WAT on Friday, 5 December 2025. It is very important to note that only candidates who have not been offered admission by any department are allowed to participate.
How UNIZIK Supplementary Admission Works
UNIZIK allows eligible candidates to apply for available programmes that still have admission spaces. This option is not the same as an intra-university transfer, because such internal transfers are only possible after a student has completed two academic sessions in a particular department.
Therefore, candidates planning to shop for a new course should pay attention to the following important points:
Always check your JAMB CAPS transfer approval panel. The proposed course might appear at any time, and you must accept it immediately to continue the admission process.
Ensure your O’level results are correctly uploaded on JAMB CAPS. Admission cannot be processed without a fully verified result.
The supplementary options span many faculties, including Education, Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences, Management, Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, and many more.

Important Steps for Candidates Using the UNIZIK Shopping Portal
The supplementary application portal operates strictly within the official period, and the university has set up a queueing system to manage large online traffic. Before applying, candidates should note the following rules:
Visit the official supplementary admission page to begin your application.
Candidates who have already been considered for admission in any department will not be allowed to shop for another course.
The system allows only 1,000 users inside the portal at a time. Others will wait in an online queue.
Each active user will have 5 minutes to complete the process. Once the time elapses, the system sends the user back to the waiting list so that others can enter.
A countdown timer will display the remaining time for each active user. Those queueing must watch their number as it progresses.
Candidates can shop for a maximum of three programmes, but only one of the three options can be a professional course.
These rules are designed to ensure fairness, orderliness, and a smooth admission process for every applicant.
