This young man earned a First Class degree in Mechanical Engineering with a CGPA of 4.71 and also received a Best Student award: Bolatito Sodunke completed his Mechanical Engineering program with a 4.71 CGPA and graduated with a First Class result. He stood out among his peers and received major academic awards for his performance and contributions during his years of study. His record shows steady improvement, strong discipline, and serious commitment to his academic goals from his first year to his final year.
He gained admission in 2019 and maintained high grades throughout the program until his graduation in 2025. At the end of his studies, he emerged as the Third Best Student in his department and the Eighth Best Student in the entire Faculty of Engineering. His results reflect consistent effort, proper time management, and active participation in academic activities.
During his time in school, he also received international and local scholarships and grants. These include support from a United Kingdom–based mechanical engineering body and a faith based academic and leadership scholarship program. These awards recognized both his academic strength and his leadership qualities.
Beyond classroom performance, he held important leadership positions. He served as General Secretary of his departmental engineering student body and also worked as Assistant General Secretary in a national engineering students association. Through these roles, he developed strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills. He handled documentation, meeting records, and student coordination tasks, which improved his leadership experience.
His final year project focused on predicting well-to-wheel emissions for vehicle fuel transition. The research work strengthened his knowledge in energy systems, emission control, sustainability studies, and technical research methods. The project also addressed practical environmental and transportation challenges.
He explained that mentors, lecturers, and friends played an important role in his journey and success. He believes that progress happens faster when there is guidance and support from others. His present goal is to work on sustainable energy and transportation solutions and continue growing in the engineering field. The journey continues with new targets and greater responsibility.
