GUIDELINES FOR CHANGE OF DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka invites applications from interested students for the Change of Degree Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session.

GUIDELINES

1. Application Period

Applications for the Change of Degree Programme must be submitted at the end of each academic session. The processing of these applications must be concluded no later than one month after the start of the new session.

2. Eligibility Requirements

Students wishing to transfer from one department to another must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 1.00.

Each department will set its own minimum GPA cut-off for accepting students via the Change of Degree Programme.

3. Application Submission

The Admissions Office will verify applicants’ eligibility for their desired departments and process applications from students listed on the payment schedule.

Applicants must submit the following to the Admissions Office:

  • A printed copy of their Change of Degree application form.
  • A copy of their O’Level result.
  • A WAEC/NECO result checker scratch card.

4. Vacancies in Departments

The following programmes have the specified number of available slots:

  • Medicine: 0
  • Pharmacy: 0
  • Dentistry: 0
  • Law: 40
  • Medical Laboratory Science: 50
  • Medical Radiography and Radiological Sciences: 50
  • Nursing Sciences: 50
  • Nutrition and Dietetics: 10
  • Computer Science: 50

5. Application Processing

The movement of application lists between the Admissions Office and faculties will be conducted in batches.

Students are not allowed to handle or move application lists.

6. Completion and Registration

Only students who complete the process within the specified period will be registered in their new departments.

The Change of Degree process will not be carried over to subsequent sessions.

7. Payment Instructions

No additional payment should be made for the Change of Degree Programme beyond the official application fee outlined below.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Generate Payment Invoice

Visit the UNN website unn.edu.ng or the portal unnportal.edu.ng.

Log in with your registration number to generate and download a unique payment invoice.

2. Payment Process

Take the payment invoice to any bank using the e-transact platform.

Pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦150,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).

Ensure the invoice number is correctly entered at the bank, and obtain a confirmation slip containing your confirmation number and invoice number.

3. Complete Online Registration

  • Return to the UNN website or portal.
  • Log in with your registration number, confirmation number, and invoice number.

Complete and submit the Change of Degree form online.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Online registration begins on Monday, January 13, 2025, and ends on Friday, February 14, 2025.

Late registration or failure to complete the online form within this period will result in disqualification.

Any unauthorized or extraneous payment will invalidate your application.

Remember this form is for students of UNN, that is already in the school, it is not available for newly admitted students, who haven’t matriculated.
