JAMB 2026 Direct Entry Registration Form Is Out – Requirements, Price, Deadline: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has started the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) registration for candidates who want to gain admission into Nigerian universities through Direct Entry.
Registration has already begun, and the sale of ePIN and registration exercise will end on Saturday, 25 April 2026. Candidates are advised to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute problems.
The cost of the JAMB Direct Entry form is N5,700, and registration can only be done at JAMB State Offices and Zonal Offices nationwide. Candidates cannot complete Direct Entry registration at cyber cafés or unapproved centres.
Who Is Eligible for JAMB Direct Entry 2026?
To apply for Direct Entry, candidates must have at least five O’level credit passes obtained in not more than two sittings. Two of these subjects must be at the Principal or Advanced level.
JAMB also accepts several qualifications instead of A-Level results. These include First Degree certificates, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, NABTEB A-Level certificates, foreign A-Level certificates, International Baccalaureate, and other approved equivalent qualifications.
Before registration can be completed, the awarding institution must send verification of the candidate’s qualification to JAMB. Candidates are advised to confirm that their qualifications can be verified before starting registration.
Information Needed During Direct Entry Registration
During registration, candidates will be required to provide details about their previous institution and qualification. This includes the matriculation or registration number, subjects studied, awarding institution, affiliated institution where applicable, and year of graduation.
Providing correct information is very important because incorrect details can delay admission processing.
How to Create JAMB Profile for Direct Entry
Every candidate must use a personal and unique phone number for registration. This number will remain the candidate’s permanent identification number for all future transactions with JAMB.
To create a profile, send your National Identification Number (NIN) by SMS to 55019 or 66019 using this format:
- NIN space your 11-digit NIN number
- Example: NIN 00123456789
After sending the message, JAMB will send a 10-character Profile Code to the same phone number. Returning candidates will receive the same profile code used previously.
Candidates should keep their phone number and email address safe because JAMB will use them for future communication.
How to Buy JAMB Direct Entry ePIN
After creating your profile, present the Profile Code at any approved payment outlet such as banks, NIPOST offices, mobile money operators, or microfinance banks.
Pay the required N5,700, and the ePIN will be sent directly to your phone number through SMS. Take the Profile Code and ePIN to a JAMB accredited CBT centre to complete registration.
Registration will only be successful after biometric capture of all ten fingers and physical photograph capture. Passport photographs are not accepted.
Important Biometric and Registration Rules
Only candidates whose biometrics are successfully verified will be allowed to sit for the examination or complete admission processing. Group or school registration is not allowed because many candidates later face serious issues from such arrangements.
Candidates who have biometric challenges must register at JAMB National or State offices where special arrangements will be made.
How to Retrieve Lost Profile Code or Password
If you lose your profile code, send RESEND to 55019 or 66019 using your registered phone number.
If you forget your password, send PASSWORD space your email address to 55019 or 66019 from the same phone number.
Important Direct Entry Admission Rules Candidates Must Know
Direct Entry candidates who are not awaiting results must upload their O’level and A-level results during registration. Awaiting O’level results are not accepted for Direct Entry registration.
Admission processing will not begin until all results are uploaded and verified by the awarding institutions on the JAMB portal.
Candidates upgrading from UTME to Direct Entry can only do so if they indicated awaiting A-Level results during UTME registration.
Candidates should regularly check their JAMB e-facility profile to confirm whether their qualification verification status shows CLEARED or NOT CLEARED.
Additional JAMB Registration Guidelines
Candidates must register only once. Multiple registrations will invalidate all applications.
Parents, guardians, or agents are not allowed to manage a candidate’s profile. Any candidate who shares login details with another person will be responsible for any changes made on the account.
Disclosure of Previous Admission Is Compulsory
All candidates must declare any previous admission or matriculation history during registration. Failure to disclose previous admission details will automatically cancel the application.
Candidates who want to start a new programme or change institution after previous admission are allowed, but full disclosure is required.
