General Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into Igbinedion University, candidates must possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB. The required subjects must include English Language and Mathematics and should not be more than two sittings.
Candidates applying for Law must also have a credit pass in Literature in English.
Those awaiting their O’Level results can still apply, provided the results will be ready before the new academic session begins.
UTME Requirements for IUO 2026/2027
All candidates seeking admission through UTME must:
- Sit for the 2026 UTME examination
- Obtain the approved JAMB cut off mark
- Choose Igbinedion University as first choice or process a change of institution through JAMB

Direct Entry Admission Requirements
Direct Entry candidates can apply for admission into 200 Level in selected programmes except Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, and Law.

- A’Level passes in relevant subjects
- ND or NCE with good grades
- IJMB result
- First Degree in a related course
- Candidates must still meet the basic O’Level requirements.

Students seeking transfer admission from another university are required to submit:
Official academic transcript
JAMB transfer form signed by their current institution
