Beginning of Jamb/Direct-Entry Registration 2024
Note: The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB)The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has started the registration process for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) for candidates nationwide. Registration for all interested candidates in Nigeria and beyond has already begun after the official announcement.
In a meeting with the media in Lagos State on Sunday, JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede assured them that comprehensive arrangements had been put in place to ensure an efficient registration process for all interested parties. Oloyede revealed that the registration process for UTME candidates would precede that of Direct Entry candidates.
Furthermore, he specified that the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application documents and E-PIN vending is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, February 28, and conclude on Thursday, March 28, 2024. The registrar says, It’s only available in JAMB Offices.”
Information to consider when applying
1. The UTME form, which is for applicants seeking admission to the first year of a university study, is not the same as the JAMB Direct Entry form.
2. Only www.jamb.gov.ng are open for registration.
3. It is not possible to apply for the UTME and JAMB DE in the same year.
4. The JAMB DE application is submitted online. It must be completed and submitted using the jamb portal.
5. Only twelve credentials and/or certificates are recognised and accepted by JAMB.
6. Only three years after the date of award can a statement of outcome be registered.
7. Candidates who indicated that they were expecting their A-level results and whose DE results had not been revealed at the time of UTME registration are the only ones eligible to upgrade from UTME to DE.
8. The DE cost for the 2024–2025 session is N3,500. Additional payments include N1,500 for the CBT Center’s mock/UTME service charge, N700 for registration, and N500 for commission or bank fees.
For candidates who are not taking the MOCK exam, this comes to N6,200. Candidates who choose to take the MOCK exam will pay N7,700.
9. A National Identity Number is required.
How to make the payment
The payment options that interested candidates might look into are as follows.
1. Bank payment: To make a payment, use the e-PIN that was created on the JAMB portal.
2. Online payment: Make a payment through the JAMB portal using your USSD code or ATM card.
3. POS payment: At any authorised JAMB or CBT office, you can make a payment using POS.
To sign up, take the actions listed below:
1. Create a profile on JAMB.
2. Text your NIN to 55019 or 66019 in order to create your JAMB profile. Send “NIN” to 55019 or 66019, leave a space between the letters, and then add your 11-digit NIN number.
E.g. NIN 00123456789
Keep in mind that there should be a gap between your 11-digit NIN and the term NIN.
You will then be sent a confirmation code.
The candidate’s name provided by NIMC is automatically linked to the mobile phone number used to send NIN to 55019 or 66019. This number will be used in any communication with the candidate’s 2024 Application/Examination.
3. After that, enter the code to log into the JAMB portal.
4. To obtain the JAMB e-PIN, go to any authorised bank, CBT centre, or embassy (for applicants in other countries). To obtain the e-PIN, you must have your confirmation code and pay the necessary amount.
5. Following your message to either 55019 or 66019, you will get:
•10-digit profile code
•Registered name with NIMC
• Total cost for UTME with Mock and without Mock

5. Displays the profile code when obtaining a form from a bank, MMO, MFB, switch, or USSD partner. You then receive a text message including the form ePIN.
6. After that, register by presenting the ePIN at any CBT centre recognised by JAMB.
To get a misplaced profile code back
1. Text [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019 using the same mobile number you used to register.
2. After that, the Profile Code would be obtained and sent to the cell phone number you registered.
3. Use the registered cell phone number to text [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 for UTME or DE, respectively, if your e-PIN is not received or misplaced.
4. After that, the e-PIN would be obtained and sent to the candidate’s registered Phone Number.
