UNN Unveils Academic Calendar for 2023/2024: What You Need to Know!

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has officially announced the commencement date for the upcoming 2023/2024 academic session. All newly admitted candidates, returning students, as well as parents and guardians, are advised to take note of the key events in the approved timetable for the academic year ahead.

Here’s a glimpse of what to expect in the first semester of the 2023-2024 session at UNN:

APRIL 2024

• Monday, August 8: Fresh students begin online course registration.
• Wednesday, April 24: Online course registration opens for other students.
• Tuesday, 30: Hostel allocation for all students commences.

MAY 2024

• Saturday, April 4: All students return to campus.
• Monday, 06: Commencement of lectures for all students.
• Friday, 10: Deadline for course registration.
• Monday, 13: Late registration period begins.

JULY 2024

• Friday, May 5: End of late registration.
• Friday, 19: Conclusion of lectures.
• Monday, 22: Revision period kicks off.
• Friday, 26: Revision period ends.
• Monday, 29: Start of departmental examinations.

AUGUST 2024

• Friday 02: Departmental exams conclude
• Monday 05: Inter-faculty and inter-disciplinary course exams begin
• Saturday 16: Inter-faculty and inter disciplinary course exams end

– End of first semester, students vacate campus

– UNN SECOND SEMESTER OF THE 2023-2024 SESSION

AUGUST 2024

•  Friday 30: Students return to campus

SEPTEMBER 2024

• Monday 02: Registration commences for all students
• Tuesday 03: Lectures start
• Friday 13: Registration closes, and first semester results are due to the Department
• Monday 16: Late registration starts
•  Mon 23 – Fri 27: Departmental Board meets to approve first semester results

OCTOBER 2024

• Friday 04: Last day to submit first semester results to the Registry
• Friday 11: Deadline for heads of department to check results
• Mon 14–Fri 18: Faculty Board meets to approve first semester results

NOVEMBER 2024

•  Friday 22: Lectures conclude
•  Monday 25: Revision period begins
•  Friday 29: Revision period ends

DECEMBER 2024

Monday 02: Departmental exams start

• Friday 06: Departmental exams end
• Monday 09: Exams for inter-faculty and inter-disciplinary courses begin
• Saturday 20: Exams for inter-faculty and inter-disciplinary courses end
• End of 2023/2024 session, students leave campus.
