UNN Clearance Documents & Procedure for Freshers

Dear freshers or newly admitted students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), I am excited to let you know that the UNN has just announced the official list of documents you will need for your clearance process, remember also to LOGIN to unnportal.unn.edu.ng to download some of the clearance documents listed in your UNN student profile and read the information here for the rightful procedure so that you won’t stress yourself when you arrive to school for clearance and resumption.

Below is the list of documents required for UNN first-year clearance:

• Passport Photograph (10) pieces
• O’level (WAEC or SSCE or NECO or GCE) Results, Just one of them, if you are using Double results then provide the two results.
• O’level Scratch Card (Don’t scratch it)
• UNN Post-UTME/ Screening Result Notification Slip
• Birth Certificate, Affidavit, Baptismal Card, or Age Declaration Certificate
• Admission Notification Slip
• UNN Acknowledgement Slip
• Provisional clearance
• UNN Admission List (where your name appeared on the list)
• Jamb – Utme Result Slip
• Acceptance of offer of Admission
• Letter of Identification from Local Government of Origin. (from your Local Government area)
• Student’s Profile Slip (After creating your student profile)
• Original Letter of Attestation (To be addressed to the Registrar).
• Letter of Undertaking
• UNN School Fee Receipt Print out
• Jamb Admission Letter (after accepting your admission from the Jamb Caps)
• Acceptance Fees Receipt Printout

After getting the above-mentioned documents, don’t photocopy it yet until after the first confirmation from your faculty officer.

Get an office flat file.

You can use the O’level Result printed online through the WAEC, NECO, or NAPTEB websites

JAMB result should be original.

Finally, after a few days of completing your clearance, your school registration/matriculation number appears in your profile. To check it, just log in to the student portal and click through unnportal.unn.edu.ng then navigate to your Student Update and check the place they wrote the Matric Number.

For UNN Medical Students

All Medical first-year students are to start Clearance and 100 level at Nsukka Campus (Main Campus) after the first year they move to the Enugu Campus from 200 level till they graduate.

The Ekpo Refectory, also known as “Ekpo Ref,” is the designated venue for freshers to conduct clearance in UNN, particularly for Medical Students. It’s important to note that clearance typically takes place within the first two weeks of resumption, so be sure to plan accordingly.

After completing your clearance at Ekpo Ref, your faculty office for your department will then handle the subsequent clearance process. If your faculty is located at the Nsukka campus, you can always go directly to your faculty for further clearance procedures.

It’s good to also note that clearance is also done at UNEC Unn Enugu Campus, For 100 level freshers Clearance – Faculty of Law, Faculty of Business Administration, and (Environmental Studies) Should go to the Enugu Campus UNEC for first-year clearance.

Remember, don’t make the mistake of Coming to UNN Nsukka Campus if your Campus is at UNN Enugu Campus- UNEC, Medical admitted Freshers are starting their 100 level here in Nsukka Campus.

Documents and Requirements Needed for UNN Hostel Clearance

• Two-bed sheets
• Two Pillow cover
• Two Passport
• Hostel allocation slip
• Bio-data (handwritten)
• Hostel Online-Print out showing you applied and were allocated a hostel
• One Mackintosh
• 8,500 Naira Hall levy
• Your Personal Information Form
• Remita invoice receipt shows that you paid for the Hostel.

NOTE: The above documents should be fastened with file tack in order then approach your UNN hostel for Clearance.

Some simple questions and answers about UNN

How do I know when resume or come for my UNN clearance?

UNN will release an official Academic calendar which will be a guideline for clearance and resumption for both freshers that is newly admitted students and returning students, so endeavour to follow up the UNN academic calendar as a fresher.

How will I know my Faculty and department in UNN?

First, you must search online and also ask questions before traveling to school, because it’s important to know whether the campus you are traveling to, is either UNN Nsukka Campus or Enugu Campus (UNEC) drop your course/department in the comment section I will help you with the location of the department.

When can I pay UNN School Fees?

You can pay your UNN School fees after payment of your UNN acceptance fees and the only time you can go for your clearance is when you are done paying for school fees and Acceptance fees through Unn portal after creating your UNN student profile.
