Brief History of AE-FUNAI

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2011 as part of a drive to expand access to higher education. Named in honor of Nigeria’s first elected Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, the university is located in Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Since its inception, AE-FUNAI has grown rapidly, offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across several faculties. The institution is known for its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and research, aiming to produce graduates equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

O’Level Requirements for Admission into Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI)

To be eligible for admission into AE-FUNAI, candidates must meet the following O’Level requirements:

  • Minimum of Five Credits: Candidates must have at least five credit passes in their O’Level examinations (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent).
  • Relevant Subjects: The five credits must include English Language and Mathematics. The other three subjects should be relevant to the course the candidate intends to study.
  • Single Sitting or Maximum of Two Sittings: These credits can be obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Specific Course Requirements: Some courses may have additional specific subject requirements. For example, science courses may require credits in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Candidates should ensure they meet both the general and specific requirements for their chosen course of study.

Aspirants of FUNAI should note that the required cut-off mark has been released. Prospective students should check the current UTME cut-off mark for all courses on this page. Meeting the cut-off point and having a good O’Level result increases your chances of gaining admission into FUNAI.

FUNAI is one of the top tertiary institutions in Nigeria and has set specific cut-off marks for admission seekers. Candidates need to meet these scores in the JAMB UTME to be considered for admission.

  • Medicine and Surgery: 250

AE-FUNAI Supplementary Forms

Candidates who did not meet the departmental cut-off marks can apply for supplementary forms. To be eligible, candidates must have at least 5 Credits in their WASSCE or NECO and score at least 150 in the UTME.

AE-FUNAI general Cut Off Mark

The general cut-off mark for FUNAI is 150. Any changes to this cut-off mark will be updated on the Alex Ekwueme University, Ndufu-Alike website. Only candidates who selected AE-FUNAI as their first choice are eligible to apply.
